There has been an interest in what barrel length is right for the 5MM Reminton and 5MM Craig cartridges.  The best way to find out was to test so we did and here are the results.

Several years ago. the local gun club lost it's outdoor range so all the testing we do is done on temporary ranges which infulences the benches that we use.  I did not shoot groups as it was enough to keep the velosity tests straight.

This is the ammo that was used for these tests, loose rounds are 5MM Craig with 30 grain Burger bullets.

We used the folowing firearms or barrels for this study

1.  TC G2 Contender Carbine with an Eagle View Arms (EVA) Stubbed 22" McGowen 1-12 barrel 22" long

2.  TC Contender Pistol with an orginal 10" 5MM Remington Barrel, EVA Aluminum forarm.

3  TC Contender Pistol with an Eagle View Arms (EVA) Stubbed 14" Green Mountain Barrel.  Factory forarm and no sights

4. An orginal stock Remington 592 with a 24" barrel with 2 bolts, one rimfire and the other converted to Centerfire.
